An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Financial Control & Reporting to join a leading organisation in Cheshire, as they embark on a period of considerable growth and transformation.
This company is a market leader in it's field and requires a high calibre, technically strong Head of Financial Control & Reporting to support this new phase of expansion, through the development of a best-in-class finance team, reporting and fit for purpose systems and processes.
This role will take the lead on all technical financial matters for the business, work closely with a forward thinking CFO and interact with the private equity house.
The Head of Financial Control & Reporting will play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing the financial control framework and reporting processes, supporting strategic decision-making across all operational functions and be responsible for driving financial excellence, supporting growth initiatives, and ensuring robust financial governance.
This is an ideal position for a proven senior finance leader, with previous audit training within a top tier firm, who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the financial control function, ensuring a strong internal control environment is in place.
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- Direct the preparation of management and board reports, providing key financial insights.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, offering financial insights that drive business strategy.
- Lead and develop a high-potential team.
- Build strong relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
Skills and attributes:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA), having trained with a top tier accountancy firm, with subsequent track record of financial accounting, statutory accounts preparation and group reporting.
You will have significant post qualified experience in financial control, reporting and team leadership. In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP) and corporate governance is highly desirable, as are strong Excel, financial modelling, and analysis skills.
An appetite for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment will be required, as will the desire for further career progression.
