Gleeson Recruitment Group are partnering with a growing organisation based in Coleshill, West Midlands, to recruit a dynamic and results-driven Financial Controller.

As Financial Controller, you will take full responsibility for the financial management and control of the business, reporting directly to senior management. You will oversee financial operations, including management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, with a specific focus on long-service contracts.

You will lead a small finance team, ensuring that financial processes are robust, and support the business in strategic decision-making through accurate financial insights and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management accounting and reporting, including the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Overseeing long-service contracts, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Managing cash flow, working capital, and driving financial efficiencies.
  • Business partnering with senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
  • Leading and mentoring the finance team.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.

Key Requirements


The successful candidate will be an experienced financial professional with a proven track record in management accounting and working with long-service contracts. You will have strong leadership skills, be commercially astute, and able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
  • Significant experience in a similar Financial Controller role.
  • Strong knowledge of management accounting and long-service contract management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Degree in accountancy, economics or business.
