We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. If you have a passion for numbers, accuracy, and efficiency, this could be the perfect role for you. In this role you will be in charge of a wide range of financial tasks and offer you the opportunity to expand your knowledge.

This role comes with an annual salary of up to £28,000.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Prepare and raise invoices, ensuring that all recharge costs are accurately billed.
  • Manage credit control processes, including monitoring outstanding balances, issuing statements, and making follow-up calls to clients regarding overdue accounts. Ensure effective tracking and reporting of receivables.
  • Handle bank chargebacks, recharges, and other cost-related inquiries, ensuring all entries are accurate and reconciled.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and databases, ensuring all entries are up-to-date and in compliance with financial regulations.
  • Work closely with other departments to gather necessary information for invoicing and credit control, and provide assistance with financial queries as required.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in invoicing and credit control procedures.

Candidate Experience, Skills and Attributes :

  • Minimum two years previous in treasury functions and credit control, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident Excel skills and accounts systems knowledge.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Able to work independently, manage your workload efficiently, and focus on the task at hand.
  • Comfortable overseeing credit processes and working collaboratively with others in the finance team.
  • Prior experience working in the hospitality or leisure sector is desirable.
